Psalm 41

Aren't we all poor Lord, in some way or the other?  And what if we each took the time to consider the poverty of each person we encounter: the toll booth attendant, the grocery clerk, the lady in line with us, ragged worn and frowning, the insurance company's customer service representative, the repair man, the man with the stalled car at the green light, the referee at our kids sports game...the list could go on and on.  And what if our speculations lead us to think the best...instead of the worst?

And what if we took the time to consider You, in them?

Thought changing...Life changing...

Instead of carrying thoughts and opinions that only lead to death and decay, we could carry Your life giving blessing, the source of which sustains us. We could consider each person we meet a blessing from You, rather than a curse.  We would become the blessing to others, instead of a burden.

Lord, give me Your strength so I can pay all with the blessing of kindness.  Consider me a woman of integrity and set me before You, forever.

Consider joining me as I pray my way through the Psalms each week?

  1. Hi Jenny. Another lovely reflection that reminds me of what I should be doing every day.

I love the new look of your blog. It is much easier for my old eyes to read. It's a lot of work to put a good design together but it sure reaps a lot of rewards.

  2. Thank you Barb, for your reflection and comment on the new look. I did not know a black background was hard on the eyes until Ann mentioned it recently.

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone.
