God fulfills His purpose for me and, He sends His love and faithfulness...put that on a valentine card and send it! That means He has a reason for my existence. He has a reason for your existence.
I cry out to God Most High, to God, who fulfills [his purpose] for me.
He sends from heaven and saves me, rebuking those who hotly pursue me; "Selah" God sends his love and his faithfulness.
†Psalm 57:2-3
My little guy comes to me after he's been upset. "I happy momma, I happy momma," he says. It's hard to tell if he's saying this to convince me or himself. But in a minute, he really is happy.
My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music.
†Psalm 57:7
And sometimes I have to convince myself. The familiar feelings and bad habits not quite broken can sneak up easily. Those are the times I force myself to sing and make music. My song is of thanksgiving and the music is jotted down, not note by note, but number by number.
I hesitantly started this trip, wondering if it would really work, before a friend showed me the big X marks the spot. She's already trudged down this life path , singing the songs of new life, sheet by sheet, marking the numbered notes making the up the song of gratitude. She is singing the song of thanksgiving among the peoples. Showing me, showing us, that Yes! Yes, this can be done. It is as simple as singing His glory and making the music of praise. It is that simple...but not always that easy.
Join me each week as I pray my way through the Psalms. What joy to see the way He moves among us: a word here, a consolation there, and even a "not yet". It's all Him. Link up with a conversation, meditation, prayer or reflection, even the questions you ask of Him.

Wow, I've unwittingly put down my pen this week in favor of an ungrateful spirit. Thank you for the reminder!
