If you knew me, you'd know marching bands make me cry, I like nutella on a spoon, peanut butter on a graham cracker, ice water and the song of wind chimes on my porch. I don't like anyone touching my pillow, shrimp, and sweet tea.
One of my greatest joys is making my husband laugh.
Walking around my house, you'd see I keep only what matters: large pictures on the fireplace mantle of my children, candid photos of my husband and I, quilts made by my grandma and books.
I take life in & feel it deeply.
I love words whether they be song lyrics that make me cry, prayers intoned in Gregorian chant that raise my mind higher, or stories that I literally feel.
By the grace of God I have been married for almost 20 years and have been blessed with seven children. I live the daily battle waged for our children and against our family. I am confronted in the grocery store, mocked on the soccer field, and encouraged by my fellow mothers, wrestling babies and toddlers in the back of the church every Sunday and Holy Day.
I have been a rebellious wife in a house of strife and now live as a submissive queen. I unashamedly love my husband and embrace my vocation of motherhood with crazy joy, yet love to get away occasionally with my girlfriends to sip hot chocolate or gobble chips and salsa.
God made me to know Him, love Him and serve Him in this life so I can be happy with Him forever in the next life. This blog is my humble attempt to capture the precious minutes He has given me. Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words. And other times, words paint the best picture.
